Developing the Whole Child
Inspired by the vision of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, a pioneer in educating the whole child, our school is committed to forming students who grow academically, creatively, and spiritually. Through a rich variety of curricular and co-curricular opportunities, students at every grade level are encouraged to discover their gifts, build confidence, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
The Instrumental Music Program offers students the opportunity to explore and develop their musical talents:
- SJDL Lancer Band (Grades 4–8): Open to all students—no prior experience required (see link for details and registration).
- SJDL Recorder Ensemble (Grades 2–4): An engaging introduction to instrumental music (see link for details and registration).
Students may also participate in liturgical and cultural dance, as well as showcase their creativity through visual arts displays and local competitions.
Our After-School Theater Arts Program invites students to grow in confidence and collaboration through performance:
- Annual Spring Musical/Play (Grades 3–8): A beloved tradition featuring productions such as Disney’s Aladdin Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr., The Lion King Jr., The Music Man Jr., Oklahoma Jr., The Wizard of Oz Jr., Peter Pan Jr., The Sound of Music Jr., and Annie Jr.
The SJDL School Theater serves as a vibrant and transformative space for all students, from Preschool through 8th grade. Through participation in the arts, students develop public speaking skills, poise, stage presence, and confidence, nurturing the whole child and preparing them to share their God-given talents with the world.
