At Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, we recognize parents as the primary educators of their children and essential partners in our shared mission of forming students in faith, knowledge, and virtue. Active parent involvement is not simply encouraged—it is vital to the life of our school community.

When parents engage in their child’s education, students thrive. They demonstrate stronger academic growth, greater confidence, and a deeper sense of belonging. More importantly, they witness a powerful example of commitment, responsibility, and service—values that are central to our Catholic identity.

The Home and School Association is an organization of volunteer parents who have chosen to participate more fully in the service of the school. Through their leadership and generosity, the Association organizes fundraising activities and provides financial support that directly benefits students, faculty, and the overall school environment. These efforts help sustain and enhance important areas such as up-to-date technology and infrastructure, campus maintenance, security, and teacher support. In addition, the Association plays a vital role in making a Saint Jeanne’s education accessible by funding academic scholarships for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.

Equally important, the Home and School Association fosters a spirit of community and belonging. It serves as a consultative and advisory body that collaborates closely with school leadership to support fundraising efforts, strengthen community-building initiatives, and advance projects aligned with the school’s mission. While the Association does not direct school policy or operations, it remains an integral part of the school’s structure, working in unity with the Administration to support the overall well-being and growth of the school.

In serving through the Home and School Association, parents model Christ-like stewardship and generosity, reinforcing in our students the importance of giving back and caring for others. Together, we build not only a strong school, but a faith-filled community where every child is supported, known, and inspired to grow.

We invite all families to take an active role in this shared mission—because when we work together, we form not only successful students, but faithful leaders for the future.

Why is it important for parents to be involved with their child’s school?

Parent involvement plays a vital role in a child’s growth, reinforcing the partnership between home and school. When parents actively engage in their child’s education, students feel supported, develop stronger confidence, and are more motivated to succeed both academically and personally. This collaboration also builds a unified community grounded in shared values, where children witness the importance of commitment, responsibility, and faith in action.

Meeting Schedule

  • The Home & School Association host a monthly meeting for parents to attend to learn about the efforts being made for school improvements, capitol projects, and Fun-raising activities.
  • The meetings begin at 7:00pm on the second Monday of every month.

Opportunities for Involvement

  • Family FUNraiser Food Night is a great way to build community while enjoying a meal together! Partnering with local restaurants, a percentage of each purchase is donated back to our school. It’s an easy and fun way to support SJDL, connect with other families, and give back—just by dining out!

  • Be sure to visit our SJDL Clothes Closet for your used uniform needs! This gently used uniform store is run by dedicated parent volunteers and offers a variety of donated items, including polos, shirts, pants, sweaters, and more. It’s a convenient and affordable way to stock up on uniforms while supporting our school community.

  • Our New Family Ambassador program connects parent volunteers with families who are new to SJDL. Ambassadors help welcome, guide, and support new families by answering questions, sharing helpful information, and fostering a sense of connection within our school community. It’s a meaningful way to ensure every family feels at home from the very start.

  • Trunk or Treat is our school’s fun-filled Halloween event for SJDL families! Volunteers decorate their car trunks and pass out candy to our “trunk-or-treaters” in a safe and festive environment. It’s a great night of community, creativity, and Halloween fun for all.

  • Join SJDL families on campus for a fun and relaxing evening under the stars! Enjoy a family-friendly movie, grab some food, and spend time connecting with other families. It’s a wonderful way to build community and make lasting memories together.

  • Join SJDL fathers and daughters for a special evening of bonding on campus! Enjoy music, dancing, snacks, and more while creating meaningful memories together. It’s a fun and memorable night dedicated to celebrating this special relationship.
