United In Prayer
Dear Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Families,
It is with a heavy heart, but trusting in the resurrection and in God's mercy and love, that we pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Michelle Mora, Thalia Carlos' (K-2) mother. Michelle passed to her eternal reward, surrounded by her loving family, on Thanksgiving Day.
Please keep Mr. Fernando Carlos and the family in your prayers during this most difficult time; our prayers, love and support will be a consolation to them. We hold fast to our belief that we will be reunited with our loved ones : I am the resurrection and the life, she who believes in me will never die !
Eternal rest grant unto her, oh, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Our hearts were also saddened by the news that Miss Birney's father, Dr. Tom Birney, passed away this past Friday. We pray for his devoted daughter, Crissie, and her sisters, Laurie and Katie. His love for his daughters was evident throughout his life and his love for the Sisters and Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School will truly be missed but never forgotten.
Again we pray, "Eternal rest grant unto him, oh, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace."
Second Sunday of Advent

This week, we pause to remember who God is and what He has done for us. When our lives are hurried, we only have the chance to focus on our to-do lists. Making space in our schedules for prayer and meditation helps us to better see God at work in our lives and in our world.

Santa's Secret Shop
This year the May Festival Committee has partnered up with Fun Services (one of our primary May Festival vendors) by setting up a Santa's Secret Shop at Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School. Students are invited to participate and purchase their own special holiday gifts for their families and friends. The amazing part of this event is that for every Toys for Tots sponsored item purchased, Fun Services will donate the same or similar toy to the Toys for Tots program!
Santa's Secret Shop will be set up in the Conference Room next to the Library and supervised by the May Festival Committee and parent volunteers the week of December 5-9. Teachers have been provided with the scheduled times the shop will be open during lunch recess and some morning breaks. The QR code found in the "Santa's Secret Shop Parent Letter" below, shares a video with more details. Parents also have the ability to pay in advance, allowing their child to purchase items on account.
We hope to see your child during the week and will do all we can to be help them pick a "special gift" for their loved ones to place under the Christmas tree this holiday season.

Experience the Advent Season with a visit to the Grotto at Mater Dei High School for the Annual "Christmas at the Corner" Celebration TONIGHT at 5 p.m. Our SJDL Lancer Band and Recorder Ensemble will be performing.
Enjoy strolling carolers, a visit with Santa, Christmas goodies and hot chocolate, holiday performances from dance program as well as our vocal and instrumental musicians, and a living Nativity to remind us of the TRUE reason for the season. We hope to see you there to celebrate the season and support our talented SJDL musicians.
This event is FREE and we encourage you to bring new, unwrapped toys for our Christmas Outreach.

Clothes Closet News
A few guidelines for "shopping" in the Clothes Closet:
- Open on the First Monday of each month at 7:30am, or contact Mrs. Nguyen ([email protected]) or Mrs. Adams ([email protected])
- A maximum of 4 shoppers are allowed inside the Closet. We ask that you line up at the door and enter as someone exits.
- You may help yourself to all hanging items, as well as folded items in the cubbies. A Clothes Closet coordinator will help you with any items in boxes or bins.
- Please do not leave clothes on the floor or in the fitting room.
