A Prayer to Fulfill Our School Mission

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, seeking Your wisdom and strength.
We ask for Your guidance as we strive to fulfill the mission of our school:
To develop a vibrant relationship with Jesus,
To inspire each student to grow in knowledge, faith, and service,
And to build a community of love, compassion, and respect.

Grant us the courage to model Your values in all that we do,
And the wisdom to teach with integrity and compassion.
Help us to be instruments of Your peace,
And to inspire each child to discover their unique gifts and talents,
So they may use them to serve others and glorify You.

May Your presence guide us in fulfilling our mission,
Strengthening our commitment to excellence,
And guiding us to be faithful stewards of the trust You’ve placed in us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen

Rooted in Mission, Open to the Future

In his first address to the College of Cardinals, Pope Leo XIV expressed a vision that strongly resonates with our own Educational Project at Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School. His call to uphold human dignity and social justice reflects our shared commitment to forming compassionate, critically aware students who engage the world with courage and integrity. Pope Leo’s reference to the challenges of artificial intelligence highlights the need to read the signs of the times—an essential part of our approach to faith-filled education. His tribute to Pope Francis and emphasis on simplicity, service, and unity mirror the values we strive to embody as a school community. As we continue our mission, we are inspired by his closing prayer that a “great flame of faith and love” may align with our foundation of Maintaining the Flame, and we pray that it may light the way for all people of goodwill.

Parent Reminder: Stay Tuned!

As we approach the end of the school year, please be sure to check your email and school messages regularly. Many important events, updates, and opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks. We don’t want you to miss a thing!

5/27 - Parenting in the Digital World/New School Policy Announcement

Mandatory Parent Information Night

As part of our mission to educate the whole person in light of the Gospel and the Educational Model of the Company of Mary, our school community is committed to forming young people with strong minds, open hearts, and rooted spiritual lives. In line with this mission, we are asking all of our SJDL parents to join us on Tuesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m. for an important and timely presentation that offers current research and actionable suggestions regarding the permanence and unforgiving nature of social media.

Please note that given the nature and importance of this presentation children will not be able to attend, however, we will provide childcare.

Interactive Online Platforms Policy: Safeguarding Faith, Character, and Well-Being

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School’s Interactive Online Platform Policy will be introduced at the Mandatory Parent Information Night. Learn how this policy is grounded in our Catholic identity and school mission, and is intended to protect students from online risks like addiction, harmful content, and performative behavior, while promoting character, faith, and authentic relationships. With clear boundaries, family partnership, and a focus on formation, this policy supports the healthy emotional, moral, and spiritual growth of every child.

Creating a Safer Digital Future for Students

The rise of social media and smartphones has fundamentally changed the way students experience the world—both positively and negatively. From increasing concerns around cyberbullying and online predation to the growing mental health crisis among youth, schools are at the forefront of helping students navigate these challenges.

Bark’s 2024 Annual Report on Children and Technology found that online threats—ranging from explicit content in texts to interactions with online predators—continue to rise, underscoring the urgent need for proactive solutions. Schools play a critical role in fostering digital well-being, equipping students with the skills they need to stay safe online while preparing them for the future.

To help schools take action, we've compiled key insights and recommendations in our latest white paper. Download "Waking Up to the Modern Era of Online Safety".

Together, we can create a safer and more supportive digital environment for all students.

2025-2026 Student Council Elections

We are excited to announce that Student Council Elections are just around the corner! This is your chance to be a leader, make a difference, and serve your school community. If you have ideas to make our school a better place, enjoy working with others, and want to be a voice for your classmates—then we encourage YOU to run for office!

Becoming a student leader is a great way to grow in responsibility, practice public speaking, and serve with purpose. Whether you aim to be President, Vice President, or a class representative, your voice and leadership can shape the future of our school.

Don’t miss this opportunity to shine! Pick up a petition form from the office or download it HERE. Rally your classmates, dream big, and take the first step toward leadership!

Run with courage. Lead with heart. Serve with joy.
