7th/8th Halloween Dance Details
Students in 7th and 8th grade will have a teacher-chaperoned dance following the Halloween Pep Rally (after recess). Students may wear their costumes or change into free dress for the dance.
Committee Duties:
Make Halloween-themed goody bags for the 7th- and 8th-graders (68 students) -- all snacks and treats should be individually wrapped or pre-packaged-- bags of chips, pretzels, cookies, candy, etc. Homemade goodies are allowed but should be bagged and labeled for allergies.
Provide water bottles for dancers and chaperones (mini bottles are best, estimate 2 per person--we can keep leftovers for our next function)
Chill water in the rolling cooler inside the cafeteria
Set out goody bags on the table nearest the door for students to grab as they exit the cafeteria
Notes:
No snack table needed inside the dance! Snacks will be consumed outside at the blue tables after the dance. Only water is allowed during the dance.
You can provide juice boxes or Capri Suns for after the dance if you like, but they cannot be consumed inside the cafeteria.
The dance runs from after recess (10:00ish) until about 11:30am. You can drop off the drinks and goody bags in the morning. The goody bag table should be ready/decorated and the cooler should be plugged in.
Budget: Room Parent Fund Goody bag containers and fillers, snacks and drinks for dance. Any costs incurred above and beyond amount will be considered a generous donation. Please submit all receipts for reimbursement, clearly labeled with your name and committee/event, to Mrs. Yorba.
FYI - For the Halloween dance, 8th-grade parents are in charge of goody bags and drinks and 7th-grade parents are in charge of decorating the cafeteria and making the playlist. For the Valentine's dance, we swap duties.
