Please note that Extended Care will NOT be available this coming Thursday AND Friday, December 15 and 16. All Faculty and Staff Training will take place on December 15 and our Annual Faculty Luncheon will be hosted on Friday, December 16. Thank you for making arrangements to ensure that your child(ren) will be picked up from the school no later than 12:15pm each of these days and thank you for your understanding!

Jackets, Sweaters and Everything Else...
We ask that everyone take a moment this week to inventory jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes and especially water bottles. We will need to do a complete sweep of the school on Friday, December 16, to ensure that items are not left out over the Christmas Break. Every effort will be made to return items that are clearly labled, however, if clothing items are not labled we will place them in our Clothes Closet or donate them to Goodwill.
Training children to recover their personal items on a daily basis is an ongoing endeavor for us all. We appreciate everyone who partners with the school's overall intention of helping our children learn responsibility and accountability for their property now and throughout their life.

The third Sunday of Advent invites us to reflect on the joy we have access to because of our faith in Jesus. One of the defining characteristics of Christ-followers is their joyful demeanor. Let’s not allow the struggles of this year, season, or day, steal from the great joy we have because of Jesus.

The Chirstmas spirit was evident in our Adopt-a-Family gift gathering this past week. We thank all of our SJDL families for their donations and helping make the holidays fun for children and their families across Orange County. We also thank Mrs. Esguerra for coordinating this heartfelt event and her team of Christmas helpers for all of their hard work.
Lancer Athletics News
Central Division League Basketball Schedules have been posted to the SJDL Athletics Calendar.
Basketball uniforms will be handed out when we return from Christmas Break to all athletes who have submitted the Winter Sports Fee. Thank you for submitting the fee as soon as possible so that all players can receive their uniform prior to the first league competition.

Clothes Closet News
A few guidelines for "shopping" in the Clothes Closet:
- Open on the First Monday of each month at 7:30am, or contact Mrs. Nguyen ([email protected]) or Mrs. Adams ([email protected])
- A maximum of 4 shoppers are allowed inside the Closet. We ask that you line up at the door and enter as someone exits.
- You may help yourself to all hanging items, as well as folded items in the cubbies. A Clothes Closet coordinator will help you with any items in boxes or bins.
- Please do not leave clothes on the floor or in the fitting room.
