Thank you to the generous support and spirit of the SJDL community! We hope you enjoyed the night re-connecting with or making new friends while raising needed funds for the school. We also want to thank, in a special way, the Fall Gala Co-Chairs, Mrs. Bethany Lynn and Mrs. Colleen Callahan-Litfin, and their team of volunteers for all of their hard work in making the event such a huge succss.

For those that won Silent Auctions items at the Gala, but were unable to bring the items home there will be pick up at times at school this Friday between 7:30 am - 8:30 am and again between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.

Please note the Online Auction continues through this Friday at 12:00 noon! There is still more to win! This includes the opportunity to donate to the Fund in Need Security Enhancement Project.

Please plan to pickup your On-line winnings Saturday, November 19 between 9:00-11:00 am and/or Sunday, November 20 between 12:00 - 2:00.

Online Auction Still Available

Thank you to all of the parents who supported our Fund-a-Need initiative at the auction. This year's Fund-a-Need is a new and expanded Security Camera System for the entire school complex. We hope to gain enough funds to purchase and install an updated and more expansive security system to continue in our safety efforts. It's not too late to help with our efforts. Please click the image or link below to donate toward our goal.

Reflection

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10

God, thank You for uniquely creating me to serve You. I want to use the gifts You've given me to honor and bless You and You people. I want to be a faithful manager of all the You entrust to me. So, please show me how to use my talents to serve others and glorify Your holy name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Measuring Student Growth

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School actively participates and employs protocols intended to identify and address student growth throughout the school year and beyond. One of the components the school uses to determine growth and instructional direction is the STAR Benchmark Assessments. These assessments focus on measuring reading and math competencies aligned to the school's adopted Learning Goals and Learning Progressions.

When viewing the Benchmark scores posted in the Learning Management System (Otus), there are delineation lines that are reflective of California's CAASPP Levels. These 1-4 Levels are not associated with the school's Proficiency Scales, but rather, reflect the range associated with respective levels of proficiency based on state benchmark Scaled Scores.

Students in grades K-8 will once again participate in Benchmark Assessments during the coming week of November 7 - 11. Parents can help by talking with their child(ren) regarding their effort and motivation to do their best, so that we can effectively measure their growth and ability. We will be able to share this information in our LMS, along with classroom observations, Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments students have been given during the First Trimester which will end on Friday, November 18.

Thank you, again, for talking with your child and helping them understand the importance of our benchmark assessment and encouraging them to do their best.
