DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS TODAY
Tickets are limited so don't delay

It's the last week to register for the gala and there are two new incentives!

The class with the highest percentage of parents attending the gala will get to watch a movie and enjoy popcorn and snacks on a day during the week of November 7. Also, all students whose parents have registered for the gala will receive free dress on Thursday, November 10!

All-inclusive Ticket Price includes OPEN BAR, DINNER, LIVE BAND and a chance to bid on some amazing Silent and Live Auction Items

The Gala committee is looking for new or gently used  baskets for the silent auction. We are also in need of some wine donations. Please bring them to the Front or Back gate this week before or after school.

Live Auction Preview

Be sure to check back periodically. Items will be updated regularly.

This is also the night when we do our annual Fund-a-Need Auction so it is important that you are there in-person to be part of this exciting effort. This year's Fund-a-Need is a new and expanded Security Camera System for the entire school complex. We hope to gain enough funds and support during the Gala to purchase and install an updated and more expansive security system to continue in our safety efforts. You presence at the Gala is needed to make it happen.

Remember to forward this information to at least one friend or business partner to help get this party started!

Gala Day of Volunteer Opportunities. The Committee has been working hard in preparation for this event, but they can't do it alone. We need some additional day-of help. The shifts still allow you plenty of time to visit with friends and enjoy the event. View Gala Volunteer Form

Reflection

"For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith. As it is written, 'The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.'"  -Romans 1:17

God, I am not ashamed of the Gospel. I am so grateful for Your love for me, and I want to share Your goodness with the world. Help me to be bold in my faith, to love others well, and to live a life that honors You. Guide me as I lead people to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

All Saints' Day Mass

We would like to invite all of our SJDL Families and Friends to join us on Tuesday, November 1, for the All Saints' Day Mass.

SJDL Altar Server Ministry

The primary role of the Altar Server at Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. Students in grades 5-8 will receive their training from faculty or parent moderator, and then they are scheduled to serve at a school Mass. Our SJDL Altar Servers are also encouraged to offer their service at their respective parishes.

If you would like your child to be part of the Altar Server Ministry at Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School, please submit the form below. An Altar Sever Coordinator will contact you with information regarding our before school sessions to learn about Altar Serving.

Halloween Spirit Rally & Costume Day
Monday, October 31

We are excited to be able to once again have our Student Council members host the Halloween Costume Parade and Spirit Assembly in the Gym from 8:30am-10:00am on Monday, October 31.

As parents and students plan costumes, please keep the following in mind regarding the policies of the school:

  • No violent/gory or excessively scary costumes and/or make-up allowed.
  • No toy weapons, weaponry, toys that might give the impression of a weapon, etc.
  • No risqué, inappropriate, revealing or “cross dressing” type of costume.

We encourage students to plan their costumes so that they will be comfortable, have fun and adhere to the school’s values and mission. Tank you for taking appropriate steps in advance to discuss costume choices as the primary educator of your child(ren).

If you have any questions regarding costume guidelines, please contact Sr. Cecilia or Mrs. Spillman as soon as possible (e.g. take a picture and send it to Sister for approval).

State and County Warning Issued - Halloween Candy

"U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Anne Milgram said in a statement that “Rainbow fentanyl—fentanyl pills and powder that come in a variety of bright colors, shapes, and sizes—is a deliberate effort by drug traffickers to drive addiction amongst kids and young adults.”

(Santa Ana, CA) – The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued a warning to school leaders last week about a new and concerning “rainbow fentanyl,” a potentially fatal drug found in brightly colored pills and powders that could attract young people. Read more...

Please be sure to take special measures ensuring that your child is ONLY consuming candy or treats that are individually wrapped and purchased from a store by the parent and/or family member. Candy found or picked up by children should be considered extremely dangerous.

In line with the State and County warnings regarding the extreme risk of “rainbow fentanyl”, fentanyl pills and powder that come in a variety of bright colors, shapes, and sizes, we have decided to ban all sweet tart looking candies (ie: Smarties) from being brought to school until further notice. Even if the sweet tarts are purchased from a store and are individually packaged, students can spill them, drop them, etc., leaving items that will have to be considered dangerous for any faculty member to handle. It can be extremely difficult to identify non-dangerous and dangerous substances that are intentionally being manufactured to appear as candy. We recognize that the potential risk is small, however, it is still a risk.

We are always committed to err on the side of caution and will continue to do all we can to respond in a way that will protect all of our students, teachers, staff and Sisters from potential dangers.

Thank you for your understanding, support and compliance to this announcement. We are confident that our children will have many opportunities for “treats” and other candy options during the Halloween season.
